Holly-Hunter
Holly Hunter is a well-known American actor, producer, and director. The actress has received praise for movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, including an Oscar for the film Piano. The path to acting began with Broadway through a myriad of Broadway as well as Off Broadway assignments. Enthusiastic about acting from her primary school years, she was Helen Keller in a play in the fifth grade. She was born deaf in the one ear following a bout of Mumps, but she didn't let this disability dampen her drive to become an actor. She was a drama major at the college, and then moved between Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania to New York City to follow her dreams. She was introduced to Beth Henley in an elevator and the two collaborated in Broadway Crimes of the Heart, Hunter's first film. In the years following her move from Los Angeles she tried to find film roles, and was able to secure a supporting role on Swing Shift. Holly Hunter has been in numerous movies, television shows and movies over the course of her career. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and also the Women in Film Lucy Award.
