Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter, an American film and actress, is well-known for her stellar roles in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her movie Piano was awarded an Oscar. She started her career as an actress on Broadway as well as Off Broadway. It has always been her passion. When she was in fifth grade, she portrayed Helen Keller in an original show. When she was in the fifth grade due to mumps, she lost her hearing in her left ear. She did not let that stop her. As a young woman she studied drama in the college level and then moved from Pittsburgh to New York City from Pittsburgh to achieve her goals. Hunter made her Broadway debut after an unplanned conversation with Beth Henley, a playwright. Together, they wrote in Broadway Crimes of the Heart. Her first role in film came after she relocated from Los Angeles. In the years since, she has been in many shows and TV films over a career spanning more than three decades. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has also won her the Women in Film Lucy Award.
